Pump prices of fuel to slightly rise next week
MANILA, Philippines — After oil companies implemented a big-time price rollback last week, motorists should brace for a slight increase in fuel prices next week.
An industry source said diesel and gasoline prices might go up by 30 to 50 centavos per liter each based on the daily average trading at the Mean of Platts Singapore of petroleum products in Singapore from Jan. 9 to 13.
Unioil expects diesel to increase by 40 to 60 centavos per liter and gasoline by 50 to 60 centavos per liter.
Rino Abad, director of the Department of Energy’s Oil Industry Management Bureau, said on Friday there might also be a slight decrease in kerosene prices.
Last week, oil companies slashed gasoline by P0.75 per liter, diesel by P2.80 per liter and kerosene by P2.10 per liter.
