2 alleged NPA members surrender in Masbate
LEGAZPI CITY — Two alleged members of the communist New People’s Army (NPA) voluntarily turned themselves in to authorities in Cataingan town in Masbate province on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
Lt. Col. Maria Luisa Calubaquib, spokesperson of the Bicol police, said in a belated report that the rebel returnees with the aliases “Duaman” and “Nonoy,” both farmers, surrendered. after negotiations with the authorities in Barangay Cagbatang at around 1 p.m.
Calubaquib said they were members of Larangan 2 Komiteng Probinsya 4 that operates in the third district of Masbate.
The rebel returnees will be given assistance under the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program or E-Clip.
