P107,000 ‘shabu,’ 2 guns seized in Cavite, Laguna drug busts
LUCENA CITY – More than P107,000 worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and two illegal firearms were seized from six suspected drug traders on Thursday and early Friday (Jan. 5 and 6) during buy-bust operations in Cavite and Laguna provinces.
Police anti-narcotics operatives in Bacoor City, Cavite arrested Alfred Gersalina, Dai Takahashi and Efren Paet after allegedly selling a sachet of meth to a poseur buyer in Barangay Molino 7 at 12:45 a.m. Friday, the Calabarzon police said in a report Friday.
Authorities seized from the suspects, all listed shabu peddlers in the locality, 10 sachets of meth weighing 10 grams.
The confiscated illegal drugs are worth P68,000 as per the valuation of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB).
In Biñan City, Laguna, policemen busted Khristian Moreno in Barangay San Antonio at 1:50 a.m., also on Friday.
Article continues after this advertisementThe suspect, tagged as a high-value drug personality, yielded eight sachets of shabu with a DDB value of P20,800.
Article continues after this advertisementMeanwhile, two arrested drug pushers were found carrying illegal firearms in sting operations in Laguna province on Thursday.
First to fall was Ernesto Villar in Barangay Tagapo in Sta. Rosa City around 4:13 p.m. He was found carrying an undocumented caliber .38 revolver with five bullets and P4,000 worth of shabu.

In Calamba City, anti-illegal drug operatives collared John Carl Almario in Barangay Bucal at 10:58 p.m.
Police confiscated an illegal caliber .38 revolver with three bullets and P14,960 worth of meth.
All suspects were detained and charged with violating Republic Act 9165 for possessing and selling dangerous drugs.
Villar and Almario will face another case for illegal possession of a firearm.
