Man arrested by officemates for allegedly installing spycam in washroom
MANILA, Philippines — A 49-year-old man has been seized by his officemates in Mandaluyong City for allegedly installing a camera in the office comfort room.
The Philippine National Police’s Anti-Cyber Crime Group (PNP-ACG) said Friday that the arrest of suspect Wilfredo Torres Mendoza came after a female employee reported noticing something unusual in their lavatory.
“She saw an adhesive green tape above at the hidden parts of the sink, and when upon checking on it, she discovered a camera wrapped in foil connected with a power bank,” the PNP-ACG said in a report.
The complainant claimed that before she entered the comfort room, she saw Mendoza spend a long time inside, according to the PNP-ACG.
Mendoza was collared by his officemates on Thursday, January 5, and later turned over to the Eastern Police District anti-cybercrime team (EDACT).
