Weekly COVID-19 positivity rate in Zambales drops on Christmas Eve
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — For the first time in the last five weeks, the COVID-19 positivity rate in this province went down on Christmas Eve, according to the independent pandemic monitor OCTA Research.
Citing data from the Department of Health, OCTA Research on Monday (Dec. 26) said the weekly positivity rate in Zambales stood at 11.7 percent, down from 14.4 percent recorded on Dec. 17.
According to OCTA, the positivity rate refers to the percentage of tests that turn out positive.
Since Nov. 28, Zambales has consistently experienced an upward trend in the spread of COVID-19 infections.
But as of Dec. 24, or Christmas Eve, the active COVID-19 cases in Zambales stood at 29 after recording zero new infections.
