Over P122,000 shabu seized from 5 suspects in Bicol
LEGAZPI CITY — Authorities recovered more than P122,000 worth of shabu (crystal meth) from five suspected drug personalities in separate operations on Tuesday in Camarines Sur and Camarines Norte.
Police Colonel Julius Caesar Domingo, Camarines Sur police chief, said in a report Wednesday, Dec. 7, that they arrested at around 10 p.m. Edwin Norte, 36, in Barangay Mataoroc in Minalabac town and confiscated three sachets of shabu worth P3,500.
In Iriga City, Jeffrey Saballero evaded arrest at 7:16 a.m. when served a search warrant at his residence in Barangay San Nicolas.
Domingo said upon sensing the police officers, Saballero ran at the back of his house.
Police recovered 14 grams of shabu worth P95,000, three improvised tooter, four lighters, and a rolled aluminum foil.
Article continues after this advertisementIn Daet town in Camarines Norte, “Kiko,” 35, was arrested around 11:30 p.m. in Barangay Mancruz.
Article continues after this advertisementLieutenant Colonel Arnel de Jesus, Daet police chief, said two grams of shabu worth P13,600 were recovered from the suspect.
In San Lorenzo Ruiz town, Rodel Cosrino, 35, was also arrested in a search operation around 2:15 a.m. in Barangay Dagotdotan.
Major Diana De Vera, San Lorenzo police chief, said authorities recovered seven sachets of shabu worth P3,500 and a .38 revolver from the suspect.
In Basud town, Major Eva Guiruela, police chief, said they arrested at 5:32 p.m. “Oweng,” 41, in Barangay Poblacion 2.
A gram of shabu worth P6,800 was confiscated from Oweng, who was identified as a street-level drug peddler.
The suspects were in the custody of the police and face charges of violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
