BIR installs tax filing centers in malls

STARTING today, March 31 until April 16, the Bureau of Internal Revenue will install tax filing centers (TFCs) in eight department stores in Cebu to accept even, exempt, refundable and second installment income tax returns from taxpayers for 2011.

BIR Regional Director Rodita Galanto said the TFCs will open daily at 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Elizabeth Mall on P. del Rosario Street, Cebu City; Gaisano Countrymall in Banilad; SM City Cebu on North Reclamation Area, Cebu City; Parkmall in Mandaue City; Metro Gaisano Colon; J Center in Mandaue City and Ayala Center Cebu, except during Sundays and holidays.

Out-of-district income tax returns for 2011 filed by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, public school teachers, professors and instructors will be accepted by authorized agent banks or revenue collection officers for taxable returns and at the TFCs for exempt, even, refundable and second installment returns.
