Bongbong Marcos invited to World Economic Forum

MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. was invited to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, according to the Office of the Press Secretary (OPS) on Saturday.

“World Economic Forum (WEF) Founder and Executive Chairman Klaus Schwab today invited President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to the WEF in Davos, Switzerland on January 16-20, 2023,” the OPS posted on Facebook.

The OPS stated that the invite came during a breakfast meeting with Schwad, adding that the latter said that was an excellent opportunity for Marcos to tell the world about positive developments in the country.

According to its website, the WEF is an independent, international organization that engages with business and political leaders in order “to shape global, regional and industry agendas.”

Marcos is currently in Cambodia to attend the 25th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Plus Three Summit in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The summit allows world leaders to discuss trade and investment.
