Classes at all levels suspended in Polillo, Quezon due to Maymay
LUCENA CITY — Classes at all levels, in public and private schools, in the island town of Polillo in Quezon province are suspended on Wednesday, Oct. 12, as a precautionary measure for the incoming tropical depression Maymay.
The local government announced the suspension on its Facebook page early Tuesday night, Oct. 11.
“Pinapayuhan po ang ating mga mag-aaral na manatili sa ating mga tahanan. Maging alerto at mag-iingat po tayo palagi,” the post said.
(Students are advised to stay at home. However, be alert and careful at all times.)
The 5 p.m. weather bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) hoisted Tropical Cyclone Wind (TCWS) Signal No. 1 in areas along Maymay’s path, including the towns of General Nakar and Infanta, and the Polillo group of islands in the northern part of Quezon.
