Olongapo City COVID-19 active cases slightly up

OLONGAPO CITY — The number of active COVID-19 cases in this city increased slightly to 28 after recording six new cases on Wednesday, local data showed.

It was the highest number of new infections in recent weeks based on the data from the city’s COVID-19 task force.

Among the latest to contract COVID-19 is a 10-year-old boy from Barangay (village) Kalaklan.

The city’s active COVID-19 cases already dropped to 10 on Sept. 23, when it started to register zero infections for several days.

Since the pandemic struck the country in 2020, the Olongapo City has registered 7,429 COVID-19 cases. Of this figure, at least 7,041 had recovered while 360 had died from the disease. INQ
