Iloilo Gov. Defensor contracts COVID-19
ILOILO CITY — Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. has tested positive for SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, the provincial government confirmed on Thursday, October 6.
The Office of the Governor was temporarily closed for disinfection while contact tracing is being done to identify the close contacts of the governor, according to Balita Halin sa Kapitolyo, the provincial government’s official communication arm.
Defensor is currently working from home.
This is the first time that Defensor contracted the dreaded virus.
