Karding leaves P1.4M damaged rice plants in Zambales
SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — Damage to agriculture in this province due to Super Typhoon Karding (international name: Noru) was placed at P1.4 million.
The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said the initial damage assessment covered only rice plants in the province’s four towns.
Damaged rice plants in this town alone totaled P141,103; in Cabangan, P262,000; in the capital town of Iba, P171,000; and in Sta. Cruz, P834,700.
More than 30 farm animals drowned in the floods that hit some low-lying communities in the province, the PDRRMO said. INQ
