MANILA, Philippines — Fair weather will prevail throughout the country on Thursday, except in the Zambales and Bataan area in Luzon where overcast skies and rain are expected due to the southwest monsoon, said the state weather bureau.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), however, said it is currently monitoring two weather disturbances, one of which is a low-pressure area (LPA) currently located within the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR) 1,200 kilometers east of Luzon.

While the other is a tropical depression outside PAR, 1,915 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon, carrying wind speeds of 45 kph and gusts of up to 55 kph.

“Sa kasalukuyan wala tayong inaasahang magiging direktang epekto itong LPA at tropical depression sa ano mang bahagi ng ating bansa,” said Pagasa weather specialist Daniel Villamil.

(Currently, we do not expect this LPA and tropical depression to have a direct impact on any part of our country.)

“Ngunit dito sa Zambales at Bataan area asahan pa rin natin ang mas makulimlim na panahon dulot pa rin ng southwest monsoon o habagat,” he said.
