Nominations for next UP president now open
MANILA, Philippines — The University of the Philippines’ (UP) highest decision-making body on Sunday called for nominations for the next university president, who will serve the country’s premier state university in the next six years.
As of Sept. 8, the UP Board of Regents (BOR) has already constituted itself as the search committee for the next UP president.
Nominees should meet the following minimum requirements:
- a Master’s degree; doctorate preferred
- a substantial academic experience at the tertiary level
- able to serve the full term of six years before reaching the age of 70
- no conviction for administrative or criminal offenses and must possess administrative and managerial experience at the senior level.
The UP BOR search committee will be accepting nominations from Sept. 12 to Oct. 14.
Each nomination should include the nominee’s curriculum vitae; mission-vision statement and a statement of willingness to serve; a brief justification for the nomination; and clearances from the Sandiganbayan, Office of the Ombudsman, and National Bureau of Investigation.
