1 dead due to Typhoon Henry — NDRRMC
MANILA, Philippines — One person was reported dead due to Typhoon Henry (international name: Hinnamnor), the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said on Friday.
The NDRRMC said the reported fatality was from the Cordillera Administrative Region. No other details given.
NDRRMC has yet to release a report on missing or injured persons.
As of 5:00 a.m., Friday, “Henry” was spotted almost stationary some 395 kilometers east-northeast of Basco, Batanes, packing maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gustiness of up to 215 kph, according to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
Pagasa said Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal Number 1 is up over Batanes, Babuyan Islands and Santa Ana, Cagayan due to “Henry.”
