MANILA, Philippines – While a low pressure area (LPA) has emerged east of extreme Northern Luzon, fair weather will still prevail across the archipelago due to the easterlies, said the state weather bureau.

An early morning forecast from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) showed that the LPA may either develop into a storm or be absorbed by the intensified typhoon being monitored outside the Philippine area of responsibility (PAR).

(The LPA presents two possible scenarios. First, it may progress into a typhoon or second, it may be sucked into the typhoon outside the PAR.)

He noted, however, that fair weather with chances of rain from afternoon to evening is still expected throughout the country due to the easterlies.
