Rain in Visayas as low pressure area moves away from Philippines–Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area in the Visayas is now moving away from the country but parts of the region will still experience rains, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Wednesday.

In its 5 a.m. bulletin, the LPA was seen 160 kilometers northwest of Dumaguete City or 120 kilometers Southeast of Cuyo Island.

Southern Luzon, Visayas, Northern and Western Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms becoming widespread rains over Bicol Region and Visayas which may trigger

flashfloods and landslides, Pagasa said.

Meanwhile, the rest of the country will have mostly cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms, it added.

Moderate to strong winds blowing from the east to northeast will prevail over Luzon and coming from the southeast to northeast over the rest of the country. The coastal waters throughout the archipelago

will be moderate to rough.
