First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos meets with Chinese top envoy in Malacañang

MANILA, Philippines — First Lady Louise “Liza” Araneta-Marcos met with the Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian at a luncheon in the Malacañang Palace.

Huang himself expressed thanks to the first lady for the luncheon.

“It is a great honor to visit Malacanang Palace. Thank you, Madam First Lady, for the extraordinary luncheon and warm hospitality,” he said in a post on Facebook.

According to the Chinese Embassy in a message to Inquirer.net, the luncheon was set “only reflecting good relations.”

This came just days after Araneta-Marcos hosted a luncheon at Malacañang Palace for lady ambassadors in the Philippines, thanking them for supporting her husband’s administration.
