Tokyo logs 33,466 new coronavirus cases

TOKYO — Tokyo confirmed 33,466 new novel coronavirus infections on Saturday, surpassing 20,000 for the 11th consecutive day.

The daily tally in the capital increased by 768 compared to the same day last week.

Okinawa Prefecture saw its single-day figure hit an all-time high of 5,762 on Saturday. The previous record was 5,622 marked Tuesday.
