DOH names Nestor Santiago as new NVOC head

The Department of Health (DOH) has appointed Health Assistant Secretary Nestor Santiago as the new incident manager of the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC).

MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) has appointed Health Assistant Secretary Nestor Santiago as the new incident manager of the National Vaccination Operations Center (NVOC).

This was confirmed by DOH officer-in-charge Maria Rosario Vergeire to INQUIRER.net on Wednesday after announcing during a media forum that Santiago will be tasked to lead the NVOC.

Vergeire, however, clarified that Santiago will still report directly to her.

Before being appointed as the Health OIC, Vergeire was appointed NVOC head by Former Health Secretary Francisco Duque III, replacing former chairperson Myrna Cabotaje.

Meanwhile, Health Promotion Bureau Director Beverly Lorraine Ho was also designated assistant spokesperson of the DOH, according to Vergeire.

“Kapag hindi ako available she will do the task for us so we can continuously inform the public,” said Vergeire during the forum.
