Cops arrest Western Visayas’ alleged most wanted person

Joel Leyble most wanted person found in Iloilo

ILOILO CITY—Policemen arrested the alleged most wanted person in Western Visayas on Wednesday, July 20.

Joel Leyble, 29, did not resist the arrest, police said. He was arrested for rape and attempted murder charges as ordered by Assisting Judge Redentor Eugenio Esperanza of the Regional Trial Court Branch 76 in Janiuay, Iloilo.

An operation led by the Calinog Municipal Police Station, Regional Intelligence Division 6, PNP Special Action Force, Iloilo Provincial Police Office, Provincial Intelligence Team, Regional Intelligence Unit 6, Lambunao Municipal Police Station, 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company, Regional Mobile Force Battalion 6 and the Philippine Army led to his arrest.

Western Visayas police Director Flynn Dongbo said in a statement it was the second attempt to arrest Leyble.

The accused was placed under the custody of the Calinog Municipal Police Station for documentation pending turnover to the court.

While the accused may post bail of P120,000 for the attempted murder charge, he will remain behind bars since the rape charges against him is a non-bailable offense.
