CEBU CITY — A ship that ran aground at the height of Typhoon Odette (international name: Rai) in December 2021 caught fire off Barangay Punta Engaño on Mactan Island early Saturday morning.

Nagiel Bañacia, head of the Lapu-Lapu City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office, said two crew members of M/V Trans Asia-1 sustained burns and were brought to a hospital in Lapu-Lapu City for treatment.

Bañacia said fire investigators have yet to identify the cause of the fire.
