COVID-19 active cases in PH now at 14,862 as DOH logs 1,604 new infections
MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday reported logging 1,604 new coronavirus infections, increasing COVID-19 active cases nationwide to 14,862.
Based on the latest figures on the DOH’s COVID-19 tracker, the new cases brought the total confirmed infections in the country to 3,723,014. This includes 3,647,512 recovered patients and 60,640 deaths.
The 1,604 new coronavirus cases were slightly higher than Tuesday’s 1,363 and last week’s daily average of 1,467 (July 4-10).
The COVID-19 tracker also showed that Metro Manila continues to post the highest number of new infections among regions in the last two weeks, with 8,251 cases. Calabarzon follows it with 3,880 and Western Visayas with 1,636.
Among cities nationwide, Quezon City registered the most number of new cases in the last two weeks, with 1,690. It is trailed by Cavite which logged 1,377 infections and Manila, with 1,072.
