Mawin’s routs Port in MKBC

MAWIN’S Kitchen routed Port, 142-113, Sunday night for its 7th win in eight games and strengthened its hold of second place behind league-leader Blessel Enterprises (6-0) in the ongoing elimination round of Mawin’s Kitchen Basketball Cup (MKBC)-2012, First Conference basketball tournament at the Vicente Sotto Memorial gym in barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.

Mawin’s led by single digit in the opening period but padded its advantage to over 20 points the rest of the way to post the biggest scoring difference since the start of the tourney.

Power-forward Oliver Sanoy and 3-point artist Rex Millan led the scoring chart for Mawin’s Kitchen with 19 points apiece with seven other teammates scoring in double figures including Sherwin Lequit (14), Estong Adriatico, Lemuel Paguntalan and Mat Vallejo who had 12 points each, Stanley Lequit and Opie Abellana with 11 markers and Egin Taborada who chipped in 10 points.

Elvin Etcobañes paced Port with a night-high 40 points with Paco Delantar and Dedong Ole combining for 46 markers.
