P1.7 billion worth of ‘shabu’ seized in QC, Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — Agents led by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized around P1.7 billion worth of suspected crystal meth, or “shabu,” from Chinese nationals in separate operations in Quezon City and Dasmariñas City in Cavite on Sunday.

A total of 220 kilograms of shabu valued at P1.496 billion were seized from a certain Hai Lin, 41, from his residence in Dasmariñas City at around 11:30 a.m., the PDEA said.

An hour earlier, authorities seized 40 kg of shabu valued at P272 million from Chinese national Cai Jia Zhu, or Anson Chua, along Maria Clara Street in Banawe, Quezon City.
