MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) is forecast to bring rain over Palawan, Western Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula on Wednesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

According to Pagasa weather specialist Ana Clauren in a weather report late Tuesday afternoon, the LPA was last spotted 140 kilometers east of Puerto Princesa, Palawan.

(The chances of it becoming a typhoon remain low and we do not expect it to make landfall in any part of our country, and it is also possible for it to dissipate within 48 hours.)

With this, the LPA is expected to bring overcast skies and rain over Palawan, said Clauren.

Despite an LPA near Palawan, Clauren said that Pagasa raised no gale warning over the country’s seaboards, where only slight to moderate sea conditions are expected throughout the country’s surrounding coasts.

The state weather service said the temperature range in key cities/areas across the country for Wednesday would be:
