MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) located west of General Santos City would bring rain over Palawan, Visayas, and Zamboanga Peninsula on Wednesday, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

According to Pagasa senior weather specialist Chris Perez, the LPA was last spotted 245 kilometers west of General Santos City.

(The LPA will continue to affect Palawan, while weather in the rest of Luzon including Metro Manila will generally be clear except for some isolated light rain.)

(It is expected that it will still be cloudy tomorrow, with rain and lightning and thunder scattered throughout the Visayas, as well as in the Zamboanga Peninsula.)

The northeast monsoon, locally known as the “amihan,” meanwhile, will continue to affect parts of Northern Luzon where scattered rain and overcast skies are forecast.

The rest of Mindanao, on the other hand, will have improved weather conditions on, with chances of rain due to localized thunderstorms, said Perez.
