Cops hunting escapee in Southern Leyte town
TACLOBAN CITY––Authorities are going after an inmate who escaped Wednesday from a jail facility in Sogod town, Southern Leyte.
Delfin Inting, 43, destroyed the padlock of the prison, climbed to the rooftop, and jumped on his way out at 9:45 p.m., according to a report from the regional headquarters of the Philippine National Police based in Palo town, Leyte.
Jail Officer 1 Lou Mark Fuentes reported the incident to the local police only the day after.
Jail Officer 1 Eduard Bantigon said they found at around 10 p.m., during the second head count, that Inting had escaped.
Inting has been in jail since 2016 for rape.
