Malacañang declares June 20 as special non-working day in Laoag City
LAOAG CITY, Ilocos Norte — Malacañang has declared June 20 as a special non-working holiday in this city to mark its 57th charter anniversary, the city government announced Wednesday, June 8.
The office of the city mayor has requested for the declaration of the holiday on June 20, in lieu of the June 19 anniversary which falls on a Sunday, according to Proclamation No. 1385 which was issued on June 3 and signed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea.
All events, however, are subject to public health measures of the national government, the proclamation added.
Laoag became a city in 1965 through Republic Act 4584.
President Duterte also declared June 23 as a special non-working day in Batac City so that residents can commemorate the city’s 15th charter anniversary, according to Proclamation No. 1362 issued last May 10.
