Winning party-lists to be proclaimed on May 26
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) will proclaim the winning party-lists on May 26, at the Philippine International Convention Center.
Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco told INQUIRER.net about the schedule in a message on Wednesday when asked about the proclamation date.
The proclamation was initially set on May 19. It was put on hold as votes were needed to complete the 63 party-list seats and determine their standing.
Special polls were held in 12 barangays in Tubaran on May 24 after the Comelec declared a failure of elections due to violence, threats, and intimidation.
The votes were canvassed by the Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, on Wednesday afternoon.
Elections were suspended in Shanghai, China due to COVID-19 surge. However, the votes of 1,991 registered voters there will not affect the party-list standing anymore.
