Comelec proclaims winners in Iloilo elections

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has proclaimed the winners of the May 9 elections in Iloilo province on Wednesday, May 11.

ILOILO CITY—The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has proclaimed the winners of the May 9 elections in Iloilo province on Wednesday, May 11.

Incumbent Iloilo Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr. was given a fresh mandate after defeating Noli Gil.

Defensor got a total number  of 891, 980 votes while Gil only got 25, 919 votes.

Unopposed Vice Gov. Christine Garin was also proclaimed winner as she garnered 725, 282 votes.

The provincial board members who won in the elections include Val Serag, Carmelo Nochete, June Mondejar, Rolito Cajilig, Matt Palabrica, Jason Gonzales Domingo Oso Jr., Distura Rolly, Binky Tupas, and Carol Espinosa.
