PPCRV finds no discrepancies in 4,925 received election returns

MANILA, Philippines — Poll watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) on Tuesday said that no discrepancies have been found yet in its validation of electoral returns from Vote Counting Machines (VCMs) in the 2022 national and local elections.
However, PPCRV chairman Myla Villanueva clarified that the number of election returns is still small as the poll watchdog had only received 4,925 election returns as of 6:15 p.m. of May 10.
“Currently there are no discrepancies but the sample is small and we’d like to report the match rates as it becomes more representative,” said Villanueva.
Villanueva said that more election returns will arrive by Tuesday night, or Wednesday.
The PPCRV — through hundreds of volunteers — manually encodes the printed election returns from VCMs to verify if they match with the electronic results from the transparency server.
