Comelec resumes canvassing of senatorial, party-list votes

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on  Elections (Comelec), sitting as the National Board of Canvassers (NBOC), resumed Tuesday afternoon the canvassing of votes for senators and party-list posts as certificates of canvass (COCs) come in.

Comelec resumed its proceedings past 1 p.m. after it suspended canvassing on Monday.

While canvassing was suspended, the poll body’s transparency server quickly showed results from votes cast on Election Day.

As the NBOC, the Comelec will be canvassing votes only up to the senatorial positions. The presidential and vice-presidential votes will be canvassed by Congress after it resumes session on May 23.
