THE SECOND “Run to Lead” of the Jaycees International (JCI) Mactan Channel chapter and the The Gualandi Volunteers Services Programme (GVSP) will kick off today starting at the Plaza Independencia.

This running event will support GVSP’s “Break the Silence” project—a sexual abuse prevention program for the deaf —and “Read to Lead” program advocacy for love of reading and leadership of JCI-Mactan Channel.

Noted running coach Rio Dela Cruz is expected to join the race, which will feature 3-kilometer, 6k and 12k catgeories.

Another of GVSP’s project is visiting special education centers in Cebu to conduct their awareness campaign to prevent sexual abuse to the deaf./CORRESPONDENT DALE G. ROSAL
