2 die in Iloilo shooting incident
ILOILO CITY – Two persons died in a shooting incident in Sta. Barbara town, Iloilo on Saturday evening, April 9.
The victim was identified as Rachel Lopez, 40, who happened to be the live-in partner of the suspect Jose Marco Ocampo, 48.
According to a witness, he saw the victim and the suspect having a disagreement, and even heard Lopez shouting for help.
The barangay officials called for police but as soon as the Sta. Barbara Police Station responded, the suspect immediately shot Lopez.
The policemen then decided to shoot the suspect.
Lopez, who suffered a wound in her stomach, was rushed to the Iloilo Mission Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Ocampo was also brought to the Western Visayas Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.
