2 women shot dead in Pangasinan

URDANETA CITY –– Two women were killed after they were shot by still unidentified assailants on Sunday in Sta. Barbara town, Pangasinan, police said.

The police identified the victims as Demetria Peralta Meneses, 49, and Francisca Meneses Peralta, 86, residing in Barangay Pataya.

Investigators said the victims were on board a Mitsubishi Montero cruising along the diversion road in Barangay Nancayasan when four assailants on two motorcycles cut them off around 9 p.m.

One of the men shot the victims with an unknown gun caliber, police said.

The victims were taken to the Urdaneta District Hospital but were declared dead on arrival.

The car’s driver, Benjamin Mangalonzo, 62, survived the shooting.
