Suspected drug pusher nabbed

CABANATUAN CITY—A suspected illegal drug pusher operating in southern Nueva Ecija and his mother-in-law were arrested by the police on Friday after a search in their house yielded ‘shabu’ (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and a gun.

Supt. Ricardo Villanueva, chief of the provincial police’s intelligence branch, said they recovered at least 50 grams of shabu in nine plastic sachets from the house of Danilo Obispo, 33, and his mother-in-law, Prescila Ramos, 55, in San Leonardo town.

Police estimated the street value of the confiscated shabu at P550,000. Police searched Obispo’s house at about 6 a.m. on the strength of a warrant issued by Judge Celso Baguio of the Gapan City Regional Trial Court.
