Pagasa: Fair, hot Friday weather with possible isolated rain showers

MANILA, Philippines — Luzon and the Visayas will have generally fair and hot weather on Friday while rain showers are expected in Mindanao due to the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau reported.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said generally fair and hot weather is expected in Luzon, especially in the morning and afternoon.

Temperatures may reach up to 34 degrees Celsius in Metro Manila and Tuguegarao, 33 degrees in Laoag, and 32 degrees in Legazpi and Puerto Princesa.

Pagasa said the heat index, or the temperature as felt by the human body, is higher.

The state weather bureau. said isolated rain showers are likewise possible in the evening in the Ilocos region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol region, Quezon province and Palawan.

Generally fair weather is forecast in the Visayas with rain showers possible in the Negros provinces and Panay Island.

In Mindanao, Pagasa said cloudy skies with light to moderate rain in the morning and thunderstorms in the afternoon are expected in the Davao and Soccsksargen regions.

The rest of Mindanao, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with possible rain showers particularly in the Caraga r and Northern Mindanao regions  in the afternoon or evening.

Pagasa added that a weather disturbance is not likely to develop this month, but a low pressure area may form along the ITCZ that may affect Mindanao, Visayas, and Palawan.
