No LPA, but shearline, amihan may bring rain over eastern PH
Pagasa weather update
MANILA, Philippines — The eastern side of the country may experience isolated rains not because of a low pressure area, but due to the shearline and the northeast monsoon that is still prevalent according to the state weather bureau.
Reports from the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Friday afternoon showed that the northeast monsoon or amihan would cause light rains over northern Luzon, especially Cagayan Valley and some parts of the Cordillera Administrative Region and Ilocos Region.
Meanwhile, some areas down south like the eastern parts of Central and Southern Luzon along with some towns in Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas and Caraga Region may also encounter rains due to the shearline.
For Saturday, cloudy skies will still persist over the areas mentioned, still because of the two weather systems. This would cause lower temperatures over Tuguegarao, at 21 to 29 degrees Celsius.
The rest of Luzon though may expect clearer skies: Laoag with temperatures of 24 to 32 degrees Celsius, Metro Manila with 24 to 33 degrees, Tagaytay with 23 to 39 degrees, Legazpi with 24 to 29 degrees, and Puerto Princesa with 26 to 31 degrees.
The eastern side of Visayas and Mindanao would also be colder compared to other areas: Tacloban would have temperatures between 25 to 29 degrees Celsius and Cagayan de Oro with 24 to 30 degrees, while Cebu and Iloilo will have something around 24 to 31 degrees, and Davao and Zamboanga with 25 to 33 degrees.
No gale warning has been raised which means that fisherfolk can move freely in any part of the country. However, Pagasa said that sea conditions would be moderate to rough over the northern and eastern waters of Luzon, down to the eastern waters of Visayas.
The rest of the country’s waters would have a slight to moderate condition.
