DBTC 1 secures final seat in Players 8 of Aboitiz football

DON BOSCO Technology Center (DBTC) 1 gets a chance to retain its title in the Players 8 of the 14th Aboitiz Football Cup after clinching a finals ticket at the expense of Giuseppe FC in yesterday’s semifinals held at the Aboitiz Sports Field in Subangdaku, Mandaue City .

DBTC 1 blanked Giuseppe FC, 3-0, to advance to the finals, where it will face Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC). The Eagles downed Canduman Dedon, 4-1, in the other semifinals matchup.

In the Players 10, advancing to the semifinals are DBTC teams 4 and 5, SHS-AdC and Bright Academy .

In the quarterfinals, DBTC 4 demolished San Roque Football Club (SRFC) A, 5-1, SHS-AdC routed Holy Infant School (HIS), 5-0, Bright Academy blanked Cebu International School (CIS), 2-0, and DBTC 5 edged Canduman, 1-0.

In the Boys 12, St. Augustine International School (SAIS) whipped past Centre for International Education (CIE), 2-0, while Canduman had a field day against Colegio de la Inmaculada Concepcion-Mandaue (CIC-M), 4-0.

DBTC teams racked up wins in the Boys 14 with its team A inflicting a 4-0 blanking of the Magis Eagles and its team B scoring a 5-1 annihilation of Abellana National School (ANS) Pomeroy.

In the Girls 17, CIC-M edged SHS-AdC, 2-1, while in the Men’s Under 19, Blessed John earned a 2-0 victory with no sweat after Mandaue Technical Institute defaulted their match.

The Men’s Open elimination round will resume today with San Roque Royal United (SRRU) facing AZCO FC, Southwestern University going up against Queen City United (QCU) B, Don Bosco United Football Club (DBUFC) A playing against Uptown United and Don Bosco (DB) Magone versus Subangdaku Football Club (SFC).
