Cops asked to file supplemental affidavit in ‘Poblacion Girl’ case by Feb. 21
MANILA, Philippines—The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) will be submitting a supplemental affidavit-complaint against Gwyneth Anne Chua — who came to be known as Poblacion Girl — for violating quarantine protocols during the holiday season.
During Monday’s preliminary investigation, the prosecutor gave the police until Feb. 21 to submit the supplemental affidavit-complaint. They are also required to personally present their additional witnesses and affirm their affidavit.
Meanwhile, all the respondents — Poblacion Girl and her parents, and others included — were sworn in by the city prosecutor. They had already submitted their counter-affidavits.
The complaint filed against Chua and eight others is a violation of the Mandatory Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Health Concern Act (Republic Act No. 11332).
The complaint specifically mentioned that Chua, her parents, employees, and officials of the hotel violated Section 9 (d) of R.A. No. 11332, which says “non-cooperation of persons and entities that should report and/or respond to notifiable diseases or health events of public concern” is a prohibited act.
