Father, son drown in Cagayan River

CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela – The bodies of a 44-year-old man and his 19-year-old son were retrieved Monday at the Cagayan River in Santa Maria town, Isabela province, the police said.

Rescuers discovered the bodies of Roberto Deray Sr. and his son, Roberto Jr., two days after their motorcycle fell into the river while they were heading home to Barangay Catabayungan in Cabagan town.

The police said the father was drunk while driving the motorcycle and negotiating a slippery road. His son and wife were riding on the back of the motorcycle driver.

The investigators said the wife was rescued and survived the incident.
