PNP: 7-day operation yields illegal drugs worth P6M, 980 suspects in Central Luzon

OLONGAPO CITY—At least 980 people were arrested for various offenses, and more than P6 million worth of illegal drugs were confiscated during a weeklong and simultaneous anti-criminality operation of Central Luzon police on Jan. 24 to 30.

In a statement, the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said Monday that 280 of these individuals were facing arrest warrants for different cases, including murder, rape, and frustrated homicide. Nabbed for illegal drugs were 326 others.

The police operation also accosted 346 persons for illegal gambling and 28 others for violating special laws.

At least 25,000 grams of “shabu” (crystal meth), worth P3.3 million, and 333 grams of marijuana, worth P3 million, were recovered during the same period.

Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay, PRO3 director, said the operation was part of the intensified anti-criminality drive in the region.
