Robredo, Marcos Jr. set own proclamation rallies

MANILA, Philippines — The tandem of Vice President Leni Robredo and Sen. Francis Pangilinan will hold proclamation rallies in the Bicol region on Feb. 8 and Feb. 9, according to former House deputy speaker Erin Tañada, the team’s campaign manager.

Tañada said Robredo and Pangilinan will hold a proclamation rally on Feb. 8 in Naga, Camarines Sur, as well as campaign rallies in Sorsogon and Albay on Feb 9.

12 senatorial bets invited

“So, all the 12 senatorial candidates earlier named by the Vice President are invited to attend the Feb. 8 and Feb. 9 activities,” Tañada said during Robredo’s weekly radio program.

The tandem’s senatorial lineup includes Senators Risa Hontiveros and Leila de Lima, former Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV, lawyers Chel Diokno, Sonny Matula and Alex Lacson and former Rep. Teddy Baguilat.

Their guest candidates are Senators Richard Gordon, Joel Villanueva and Juan Miguel Zubiri, former Vice President Jejomar Binay and Sorsogon Gov. Francis “Chiz” Escudero.

Meanwhile, the camp of presidential candidate Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said they were “eyeing several venues” for their proclamation rally. Marcos finalizing venue

In a Viber message to the Inquirer, lawyer Victor Rodriguez, Marcos’ spokesperson, said they were waiting for the announcement of the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases on alert level classifications for Feb. 2 to Feb. 14 or Feb. 15 before finalizing the venue for the proclamation rally of Marcos and his running mate Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte.

Their senatorial slate includes Sagip party list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta, Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri, former Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, Rep. Loren Legarda, former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, ex-Sen. Jinggoy Estrada, ex-Defense Secretary Gibo Teodoro, Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian, former Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista and lawyer Larry Gadon. INQ
