Cops nab 3; seize P14.3 million worth of ‘shabu’ in Makati, Parañaque
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics police officers have arrested three men and confiscated more than P14 million worth of suspected shabu (crystal meth) in two separate operations conducted in Makati City and Parañaque City.
The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) reported Wednesday night that members of the Makati City Police Station Drug Enforcement Unit apprehended during a buy-bust operation suspect Aldren Mariscal in Bangkal, Makati City, late Tuesday afternoon and allegedly retrieved from him one plastic pack containing the suspected shabu, two plastic bags with marking Ninja Van, two pieces of eco bag, two P1000 bills which were used as marked money, and 898 pieces of P1000 bills used as boodle money.
Authorities said that the confiscated illicit substance from the suspect approximately weighs 2 kilograms and could be worth P13.6 million.
The NCRPO also reported that the Southern Police District’s Drug Enforcement Unit carried out a separate buy-bust operation at Barangay Tambo in Paranaque City on Tuesday night which led to the arrest of two suspects identified as Kennedy Balan 25, and Maynard Delos Santos, 28.
It said that 11 plastic sachets containing the suspected shabu, weighing around 50 grams, and one P500 bill which was used as marked money were recovered from the suspect. It added that the value of the seized illegal drug is approximately P340, 000.
