Pepito continues to weaken, exits Luzon landmass

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon Pepito (international name: Man-yi) has further weakened as it exited the Luzon landmass and traversed near the coast of La Union and Pangasinan on Sunday night, according to the state weather bureau.

Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s (Pagasa) 11 p.m. cyclone update said Pepito was last spotted over the coastal waters of San Fernando, La Union.

The typhoon is moving 25 kilometers per hour (km/h), carrying maximum sustained winds of 155 km/h and gusts of up to 255 km/h.
