82 new COVID-19 cases logged among PNP workforce in Central Luzon
OLONGAPO CITY––At least 82 new cases of COVID-19 were recorded among the police workforce in Central Luzon, data from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) showed on Monday, Jan. 10.
The figure is among the PRO3’s highest single-day tally since the pandemic began. It brought to 169 the active COVID-19 infections among its personnel.
Since 2020, at least 3,080 policemen and non-uniformed personnel under PRO3 have contracted the viral disease. Of this figure, 2,904 had recovered, while seven had died.
The surge in infection was noted despite the full vaccination of most of the PRO3 personnel against COVID-19.
Starting the last weeks of November last year, the PRO3 experienced a downtrend in infections, even recording zero new cases for several weeks until December.
