Store worker shot in Medellin robbery

A 27-YEAR-OLD store worker was shot and wounded in an early-morning robbery in barangay Poblacion, Medellin town, northern Cebu.

Ronnie Javier, worker of Lidong’s Agrivet Store in sitio Bangon, barangay Caputatan, was shot in the chest by one of three masked robbers.

Police said P60,000 cash was taken in the robbery.

The robbery took place while Javier was waiting for a bus ride past 7 a.m. last Monday. The victim was headed for Bogo City where he was supposed to buy 40 sacks of rice.

While the man was standing at the side of the road, three masked approached Javier, poked a gun at him and declared a holdup.

After handing the money intended for the purchase of sacks of rice, one of the robbers shot Javier.

The three robbers fled on a black motorcycle.
