Habal-habal driver shot dead in Danao
A 55-year-old habal-habal driver was shot dead while driving a motorcycle in barangay Looc, Danao City, northern Cebu.
Police said personal grudges was the motive when Boper Laurente was shot allegedly by Joselito Lugas, 53.
Lugas was arrested in his home in barangay Santa Rosa hours after the crime.
Police said Lugas admitted the crime. He said he and the victim argued last Moday.
Police said Lugas refused to reveal what cause the argument.
Police said Laurente brought her daughter Jenalyn to work early morning yesterday.
When they reached sitio Tabok, a man on a motorcycle drove beside Laurente and shot him in the head.
Lugas and her daughter were thrown off the motorcycle. The daughter sustained bruises in the body because of the crash.
The assailant drove off.
Jenalyn rushed his father to the Danao District Hospital. The victim was transferred to the a hospital in Cebu City where he died past 11 a.m./CORRESPONDENT RHEA RUTH V. ROSELL
