Nutritionists set confab

THE Nutritionist-Dietitian Association of the Philippines (NDAP) will hold its 57th national convention from March 1 to 3 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

Cebu Vice Gov. Agnes Magpale will be the keynote speaker.

More than 1,000 members from the different NDAP chapters are expected to attend.

This year’s theme, “Transforming Nutritionist-Dietitians (NDs) for global practice,” focuses on the opportunities and challenges facing the nutritionist-dietitians today.

The following questions will be discussed during the conference: How are we responding to the global healthcare challenge? and How do we prepare the nutritionist-dietitians services as potential engine of economic growth while equitably providing social benefits to the local community?

The three-day event includes technical presentations by top-notch practitioners.

Dr. Celeste Tanchoco, RND, is the president of the association. Cecilia Ruiz, RND, chief dietitian of Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center and Board of Director of NDAP Cebu chapter, is the overall chairman of the convention.

CTU-CAS

THE Cebu Technological University College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) will culminate their monthlong celebration of Fete de CAS with a musical play titled “One night only: CTU meets Broadway” today at 6 p.m. at the Kasadya Gym of CTU main campus on M.J. Cuenco Avenue, Cebu City.

Students and teachers from CAS, with the participation of the Young Thespians of Cebu,  will present five spectacular Broadway excerpts — A Chorus Line, Wicked, Spring Awakening, Sister Act and Dreamgirls.

The event is choreographed by Alfie Mosqueda and directed by Emmanuel Jones Mante.
